Problems
Roaches, No Screens, and Air Conditioner gone out. That’s just the start of it. The grounds are filthy, trash everywhere, and people screaming all hours of the day and night. When I say trash everywhere that’s exactly what I mean. I see kitchen trash bags thrown out everywhere with half of them ripped open leaving trash all over the walkways and parking lots.
On 5/26/25 at 3:00am the air conditioner went out and I called the emergency repair service of the Solaire West apartment complex. I called for repair at 6:45am, 8:30am, 10:11am, and 1:26pm. Each time I was told that a message was being sent to the repair person and that they would call back or come by my unit.
It is 96 degrees inside and 100 degrees outside. I can’t open a window because there are no screens on the sliding glass door or bedroom window. My mother was trapped there and she’s 60 years old with medical conditions. I informed them of that each time I called, and nobody came to resolve the situation.
On 5/28/25 I sent them a notice about the lack of air conditioning, the roaches, lack of screens and the fact that I know my rights under Nevada law. They had the AC repaired on the 4th day after my many calls to their “emergency” line. An exterminator came and sprayed the unit on 6/3/25. The exterminator said he would have to come back every other week to keep the roaches under control. I thought this was excessive but he said he would be back. He never came back and I got an eviction notice with additional fees. I was never contacted by management to let me know they were done with what they called a remedy and that I should now pay rent. I went to the office to speak with them about the roaches still being present and that I’m owed a credit for the 3 days that it was 96 degrees in my unit and uninhabitable. Management told me that I wouldn’t get a credit because it was not 100 degrees in my unit and that it must be that hot before Solaire would consider reimbursement for the lack of use. I could not believe what I was hearing. They didn’t maintain the AC in a normal fashion so when it broke I had to lose 3 days of use without reimbursement because I was not uncomfortable enough for their satisfaction.
After our last conversation, management started calling and texting me to send the exterminator again to spray for roaches. I told them OK and they then sent me an email stating that they decided not to spray again since they filed for an eviction and want to wait until the court hearing. Can you believe the nerve. These people caused the problems in my unit with lack of maintenance and lack of due diligence. I had been in the unit for only 2 months when all these problems became unbearable.
Since they have put in writing the fact that they’re going to take their time fixing the roach problem, if at all, I’m going to take advantage of Nevada law NRS 118A.355(1)(a) and terminate my lease. I’m sending them notice via certified mail and will be done with this dump. You don’t have to believe me; just take a close look at the pictures at the bottom of this listing.
I can’t wait to get out of here. Whatever you do, don’t believe that professional management exists here.
